Founded in 1999, Leannta supports leadership, research and professional learning in education and mountaineering.

Leannta is a Gaelic adjective, it translates as 'learning' or 'learned' in English when describing an organisation or a person.

Ancient Celts used dragon pairs to embellish their sword scabbards. These two examples were discovered in Hungary and date back to circa late 4th or early 3rd century BC.

Examples of 'dragon pairs' with their heads joined together have been found in Ireland. This later version symbolises the benefits of collaboration by putting heads together, rather than fighting.

Our contemporary logo was designed in Kilkenny by a Celtic artist in 2000 AD.

We use it as a symbol of collaboration. We believe that learning is the result of human interaction.
